Series 4 of the high-school musical dramedy begins with several New Directions alumni pursuing higher education and other adventures. After being accepted into the New York Academy of Dramatic Art, Rachel (Lea Michele) moves to the Big Apple, where she gets an apartment with Kurt (Chris Colfer) and begins to explore a new relationship with a fellow student. Meanwhile, Finn (Cory Monteith) takes over leadership of the glee club after Will (Matthew Morrison) leaves temporarily to pursue an opportunity in Washington, D.C. Several new characters join the core group of students at McKinley High, including Jake Puckerman (Jacob Artist), Marley Rose (Melissa Benoist), Kitty Wilde (Becca Tobin) and Ryder Lynn (Blake Jenner). Kate Hudson has a recurring role as Rachel's dance teacher; and Sarah Jessica Parker appears as a mentor for Kurt. Jane Lynch, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Darren Criss, Dean Geyer and Chord Overstreet also star.
