The second season of the musical comedy-drama about the socially outcast members of a high-school glee club opens with the students moving on after their loss at Regionals. An uneasy alliance forms between Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) when school budget cuts threaten the existence of both the glee club and the cheerleading squad, while Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) try to bump up the club's numbers with some new recruits. Meanwhile, Kurt (Chris Colfer) begins embracing his sexual identity when he meets Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss), a member of rival a capella group the Warblers. Standout themed episodes include "Britney/Brittany" (an episode featuring music by Britney Spears), "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" and "A Very Glee Christmas." New cast members include Chord Overstreet as new glee-club member Sam Evans and Dot-Marie Jones as football coach Shannon Beiste. Memorable guest stars this season include John Stamos, Gwyneth Paltrow, Carol Burnett and Justin Bieber.
