Modern Family Season 1

Shot mockumentary style, this Emmy-winning comedy follows the unusual kinship of the Pritchett clan of Los Angeles, led by patriarch Jay (Ed O'Neill), whose much younger, Colombian wife, Gloria (Sofía Vergara), has a son, Manny (Rico Rodriguez), of her own. Jay's daughter, Claire (Julie Bowen), is married to real-estate agent Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell), and they're the parents of two girls, Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Alex (Ariel Winter), and a son, Luke (Nolan Gould), though Phil's endearingly immature side often makes Claire feel she has four children instead of three. Meanwhile, as Series 1 begins, Jay's son, Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), has just adopted a baby girl from Vietnam with his partner, Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), but they're not quite sure how to break the news to the rest of the family. Guest stars in Series 1 include Fred Willard as Phil's dad; Benjamin Bratt as Manny's absentee father, Javier; and Shelley Long as DeDe Pritchett, Jay's ex-wife and mother of Claire and Mitchell.
