The option below is adapted from a PowerDVD8 tweak. It worked for a while for me and then stopped.

Make a txt file and copy the code below the ######s to it.
Rename the file DisableMoovieLiveCrap.reg and run it!

Doesn't work unfortunately. Looks like Cyberlink wants to force MoovieLive down our throats regardless of whether you paid for the program, want it or how much it hogs up the launching and use of the application.

Why can't we have a simple player that doesn't add unnecessary bloat?

I tried by removing all references to Cyberlink Moovieline in my computer's registry - still Moovieline displayed on PowerDVD9 Ultra opening window. Moovieline must be deeply embedded in Vista registry.
Unable even to rise Moovieline.bat on computer's database.
Apparently, Cyberlink has no intention in listening to customers pleas, choice buy it as it is, or leave it, our choice.

try starting up your pc in safe mode (press F8 when booting) then try to open powerdvd then go nto the options and look around to see if you can then disable the area of the application that is not necessary for playing dvds.

I have found a utility called PowerDVD 9.0 Tweak Pack that disables MovieLive. You can find it by doing a google search for "PowerDVD Tweak Pack". In addition there are a number of other tweaks such as the Feature Icons on the main screen and some new skins for PowerDVD. I would suggest that Cyberlink listen to their user community or they may lose a few users. I was not at all happy with the adware that was added to an otherwise superior product. Especially when you couldn't turn it off.

There is a way to stop Movie live... I was desperate to remove this function because there was a picture of a naked woman in one of the top 5 movies that displays on the splash screen- not exactly family friendly stuff. I was seriously thinking about removing this program all together and buying another one and just taking the lost. Anyway- you can stop both the addware and the movie live data by going under your start menu (of your computer) and typing "fire" . It will offer a few suggestions... choose "windows firewall with advance security" Under outbound rules--> New rule (it's on the right side at the top)-->choose program---> this program path--->click browse and in your computer hard drive (probably C drive)---> program files ---> cyberlink--->powerdvd10 (or your version)--->powerdvd10.exe (or your version)---> next---> choose block the connection at bottom (next)---> check domain, private, and public (next)---> give it any name you with----> finish
